Windows XP on Apple hardware - people would have laughed at the idea several years ago!
Today at work we demonstrated that interop between Java and .NET via web services is achievable in an "enterprse" application.
In hindsight had we taken the contract-first route we probably would have ended up saving countless hours of debugging, and the knowledge gained from such an exercise would be golden, but with tight deadlines its not simple to grok wsdl, soap, and xml schema. Regards, Serdar
Here's a few screenshots of the Technorati homepage through the years. I'm fond of the latest design, but for me the fourth design is my favourite. The earlier ones look quite humble, imho.
What is your browser's default home page set to?

about:blank - I'm impatient and can't wait for something useful to load.
Vox currently uses the just the title of your post to build the permanent link to your post. So, for example, my last post titled "Is Textile supported?" has the following URL designated http://serdar.vox.com/library/post/is-textile-supported.html. While this may seem fine and it typically is, often enough I also hack URLs to "move up" a directory or to see a collection/index of "resources".
Had the URL of the post been http://serdar.vox.com/post/2006/08/29/is-textile-supported.html, I would then assume that if I go to to http://serdar.vox.com/post/2006/08/29/ I would see posts for the 29th August, 2006, and had I browsed to http://serdar.vox.com/post/2006/08/ I would see all posts for the month of August this year.
Tim Berners-Lee, explains "cool URIs" much better than I could in this old but very relevant article.
It would be great if Vox supported *textile* commands, be better if auto-links URLs like this: http://kilic.net
Yes this a test entry. Hello World.
Straight after work this evening we went off to go see Jet Li's new movie, Fearless, his apparently final martial arts movie. Without giving away too much, martial arts fan should be impressed as there's non stop action albeit towards the middle of the movie where things slow down quite a bit.
Whilst the title may lead you to believe that the blog is accessed directly through the device, in actual fact I'm using an rss-to-email service, r-mail.org. I set up a seperate mail alias to use for this service and once the registration was completed all was good. I've only subscribed to a couple of feeds, and its quite unobtrusive to read on the Blackberry.
A great feature of Vox is the ability to email weblog posts. So here I am, no more than a metre away from my notebook punching away at that small Blackberry keyboard. Now that I have this toy, err device, I'll probably make more Vox posts via the handheld given that it's with me 24x7.
Update: I'll also setup a rule so that posts that come through email, which will almost always be through my Blackberry, will also be tagged with "blackberry".
